With the beautiful summer season coming to a close we wanted to give you a quick update on some progress regarding the FlyingFlips give-a-flying-flip program.
We’ve been coordinating with both of our charity partners, Soles4Souls and Foundacion A. Jean Brugger and have organized to ship our first donated batches of FlyingFlips to both of them next week! They’re putting together some plans on a few great donation projects over the coming months. We’re excited to deliver your donated flip flops and can’t wait to share all the wonderful details how these donated flip flops are helping to improve the lives of people that can really use them.
So stayed tuned over the next little bit, we’ll have more details of exactly where the donated flip flops have been given and who they’ve helped, including photos and stories. :)
Thanks for being part of the FlyingFlips community and making this very first donation happen, we couldn’t have done this without all of your support the past year!
The FlyingFlips Team

We couldn’t be more excited to let you know that after lots of hard work (especially by our web-architect mastermind, Trevor) we’ve rolled out some major updates to our site!
We think some of our changes have made the site more interactive. For starters, it’s a lot easier to get registered for the site to get news updates and cool offers (speaking of which, if you haven’t registered yet, what are you waiting for? Click here!).
Still, the best news about all of this is the fact that we’ve now added our 5 newest designs to the store as part of our Artist series! Here’s a brief rundown on each:
Original Kickster: Designed by Canada’s Peter Komierowski, these stylish flips are a mini-nautical marvel of their own!
Into the Deep: Indonesia’s Ikbal Aswin Kusumah devised this dreamy pair of flips that’ll have you craving the coast!
Japanese Doodle: Vicente Teng II, an artist from Vancouver CA, designed this beautifully rendered pair that brings Japanese honour to surf culture!
Maui Wowie: Ahh, summer in Hawaii! Designed by Argentina’s Maria del Pilar Vazquez, you’ll want this pair for your next trip to... umm, Maui!
Oriental Flowers: Canada’s Danika designed this pair of flips. Her hand-drawn creativity is evident in this classic, beautiful floral-inspired design.
We are very excited to be working with such talented artists and designers, and we hope you’re as blown away by their work as we are!
Also, don’t forget that for every time you buy FlyingFlips, we donate a matching pair to someone in need. So please flip on by to our store now to pick out your favorite pair! You can look good AND do good!

We’re very happy to announce that after a month of “competition” and over 3000 (wow!) total entries, we finally have a winner for our first-ever FlyingFlips contest: ladies and gents, it’s Anna from Maryland, USA! Congrats!
Anna’s prize is $100 worth of flipflops, enjoy ‘em Anna!
We’d like to thank you all for participating in the contest and for sharing the FlyingFlips story with your family and friends. Remember, YOU are the FlyingFlips community, and we wouldn’t be where we are without your support!
Congrats again to Anna, and to the rest of you, don’t worry: you’ll have plenty of chances to win a FlyingFlips contest in the future!
Incase you didn't already know, we've got a pretty incredible contest on the go at the moment, ie. we are giving away $100 worth of incredible FlyingFlips FlipFlops. That's right, all you need to do is go to our contest page and enter, it's easy as 1, 2, 3....
But there's more, because we are so crafty and appreciate you so much, we are giving you the ability able to easily get additional entries by simply sharing the contest. Let me explain, once you enter the contest with either your e-mail or Facebook, you'll be asked to 'earn extra entries'.. there are 5 steps in total, which means 5 opportunities to get additional entries and thus, additional chances of winning! It's really that easy...
As the title says, we are already well over 1000 entries but there's still lots of time to get yours in. After all, why wouldn't you want a chance to win some Fly FlipFlops.
That's it for now, good luck!

So Father’s Day is just around the corner... Yup, time to get moving! Luckily, you have the FlyingFlips team here to help you out and provide some gift ‘direction’ so to speak. The Result: what to get your father for fathers day = solved.
Fathers are important. Fact. So we did a round circle earlier this week (yup, that important) and put together our TOP TEN Father’s Day Gift ideas; no problem.
I’m not even a father and I appreciate receiving a nice shiny new BBQ utensil , tongs, forks, scrapers, bbq lighters, etc, it’s all important and one can never get enough manly BBQ accesories. If you’re really looking to spice this gift up, put together a hand crafted bundle of bbq joy, i.e. package the utensils with sauces, spices and a couple of sirlions, that should make for some great, father-son, father-daughter, father-daughter-son (or whatever the combination is) time.
Image Source: notonthehighstreet.comLet’s face it, what’s better than winding down after a long day’s work, a full stomach and a great flick on the tv, or book in the hand... you guessed it, something to sip on .Depending on what your budgetary restrictions are, you can keep it nice and basic, or go all out and get your father something that’s about his age.
Image Source: CallieDon’t worry, this is NOT a lame 'tourist' suggestion. Seriously, take your dad out for a couple of hours and do a tour ; wine, beer, scotch, whatever he enjoys. Not only will you spend some valuable time together, you’ll also stay well lubricated and learn a few facts about each other as well. Remember, there’s nothing more valuable than spending some time with the most important people in your life.
Image Source: remodelista.comSpeaking of spending time, why not spend 4-5 hours, or more, working it out on the golf course. If your dad’s a golfer, then we almost guarantee he will enjoy a round of golf, or anything to do with golf for that matter; it’s a golfer thing. So skip on over to your local golf outlet, or golf club, and buy a round, a club, some balls, a golf tee or if you’re in hurry, a gift card (don’t get a gift card)...
Image Source: allposters.comFootball, Soccer, Basebell or whatever is local and yours pops’ favourite. Sporting tickets are a fantastic gift idea and are sure to be enjoyed by both you and your father; that’s a bonus! If a pair of tickets is a little too rich and you’re thinking lean, just keep it cozy at home, make some nachos, grab a few brews and let good times ensue.
Image Source: chinese-architecture.infoYou would be surprised at the number of people that enjoy reading... no really. Why not get your father a great book or magazine. Whether he enjoys cars, sports, mystery, science, humour, or biographies ,hop on over to the local bookstore and pick something up. You can spice the book up by adding a fancy bookmark, or you know, some FlyingFlips FlipFlops...
Image Source: flavorwire.comA watch makes a beautiful gift and quite honestly, it’s my belief that a man can never have enough watches; that’s why they make watch boxes. Whether you want to buy your dad a Timex or a Rolex ,we are pretty sure that he will appreciate the gesture; we would...just e-mail for postal information.
Image Source: Uploaded by user via LJThe best gifts are not the most expensive ones, they are the ones that are the most thoughtful; at least that’s what we’ve heard. So here’s the plan: Get a couple of jars, empty them, clean them and set them aside for a minute. Now Google “meat rub recipes”, buy the said ingredients and put into the jar in a layered style. What you’ll get is a different meat rub in each jar, they can be for different meats, different spice levels, etc. Point is, you’ve now just made your father's day because his meat will taste better; credits, you.
Image Source: handjobsforthehome.comIf you haven’t heard of this product prior to reading this blog post, then you are welcome. Not only are these things super awesome and nifty as heck, they revolutionize the art of wearing a dress shirt. So what is it.. Well, Powerstays transform your dress shirt collars into hidden button-down collars, i.e. All your father’s dress shirts just got awesome.
Image Source: onthefly.comIf you haven’t done it, do it. If you’re scared to do it, get over it. Everyone should jump out of an plane once in their lives, it’s just a requirement. Enough said, get out there on a sunny day and take your dad to jump out of a plane, we guarantee it’s an event that you will both reminisce on for some time to come. Need some inspiration, check out this sweet video:
Image Source: wins.failblog.orgJune is nearly upon us and with it, the 2012 Spring/Summer wedding season.
It's no secret that flip-flops and weddings go together like teenage girls and vampires, so we've rounded up some cute ways to incorporate them on your special day.
Show off your personality at your beach or garden wedding. Lets be realistic, stilettos in the sand or grass isn't always fun and often these locations are chosen for a more casual wedding vibe - so set the tone.
Flips are a cute and inexpensive gift for the gals in your bridal party. After hours of standing and socializing in 4 inch heels, your girls could really use a comfy pair flips to cut up the rug on the dance floor.
Outdoor weddings are par for the course this time of year, but not everyone comes prepared. Set out baskets of summer essentials like flip-flops, sunglasses, fans, and parasols and choose colours or designs that match the themes of your wedding.
We’ve got some big news... drum roll please, our give campaign has come to a close!
First off, we wouldn’t have gotten anywhere without all of your support, so big thanks and a pat on the back to all of you who helped us out. Whether you signed up, shared us, liked us, or simply took the time to read about our efforts, your contributions have enabled us to commit to a donation of 100 pairs of FlyingFlips FlipFlops through the Brugger Foundation.

Again, we are grateful for your support and hope that you continue to support us as we grow. Remember, moving forward and always, FlyingFlips is committed to giving back to both the artist, in the form of a profit share, and to those in need, by donating a pair of FlyingFlips FlipFlops for each pair that is sold. Learn more about our ‘Give-A-FlyingFlip’ campaign.
Finally, be sure to get to our store in the near future, as we will begin selling FlipFlops quite soon... but that’s another blog post : )
Thank you again, talk soon!
FlyingFlips Team
It's been a dizzying week here at FlyingFlips. We've been working hard to tell the world about our Flips and the awesome community that we're growing here, all thanks to you.
If you missed it yesterday, our FlipFlops were featured on Mashable! We received a terrific write up that you need to read :)
This was in addition to the great write up we received on Techvibes.

Designed by the people, chosen by the people and now funded by the people.
Today is an exciting day here at FlyingFlips. Some say that good things come to those who wait. But at FlyingFlips we are in business to make sure great things come to those who give. After much planning and preparation we are turning to you for the support we need to make our dream a reality. With our Kickstarter project we hope to raise $20,000 to support the release of the first run of limited edition, artist designed flips.
So flip on over to our Kickstarter project and pledge $25 or more to be one of the first to own a pair of FlyingFlips. We also have all kinds of great FlyingFlips swag as a thank you for your support.

If you’ve never heard of Kickstarter, it is a funding platform for creative projects. Creative individuals and companies pitch their projects, friends, family, admirers, and the Kickstarter community pledge money to back the project, and in return they receive rewards. It’s a great way to turn ideas into products and another great example of the power of the crowd!
Kickstarter is all or nothing funding, our goal is $20,000 and if we don’t hit it, we get nothing and nobody receives FlyingFlips. So go check it out, and help us reach our goal. If you can’t pledge right now, we understand, but we’d love for you to share our project with your friends and family with a tweet, post, or pin to help us reach our goal. Thanks!!
Thanks for your support.
Each pair is produced and sold
with a commitment to giving back
